Sometimes, it is all about perspective. It can change the feeling of a day, and the gorgeous that is lying dormant in the rain. My Mom shared this absolutely adorable and fitting gif on how women look at a day…. and themselves.
One of our pleasures in Dallas is our arts community. Alive, fleshed out and with a variety of options to suit your favorite flavor. It’s an amazing accomplishment that continues to grow and draw the fascinated in. One of my personal favorite places to visit is the Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Arts District. In both turns, glamorous and welcoming, the Winspear Opera House, situated inside the ATT Performing Arts Center, is home to a flourishing home for live performances. The latest show in the series is the classic production of Caberet.
Below are details and the link for ticket purchase. I’ll be there opening night, and I hope to see you there.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
“Direct from Broadway, the acclaimed masterpiece returns to Dallas! As part of their 50th Anniversary Season, Roundabout Theatre Company is proud to present Sam Mendes (Skyfall, American Beauty) and Rob Marshall’s (Nine and Chicago, the films) Tony Award®-winning production of CABARET.
Welcome to the infamous Kit Kat Klub, where the Emcee, Sally Bowles and a raucous ensemble take the stage nightly to tantalize the crowd — and to leave their troubles outside. But as life in pre-World War II Germany grows more and more uncertain, will the decadent allure of Berlin nightlife be enough to get them through their dangerous times?
Come hear some of the most memorable songs in theatre history, including “Cabaret,” “Willkommen” and “Maybe This Time.” Leave your troubles outside — life is beautiful at CABARET, John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff’s Tony-winning musical about following your heart while the world loses its way.”

As a mom of three under 10, a small business and an active family life, the craziness is bound to ensue. One of the things that I really enjoy is when I find a product that helps the messy go away FAST! So when the opportunity to review Scrubbing Bubbles® products came across my desk, I had to give it a try. The youngest and I rolled up to our local Walmart Marketplace and went in search of the Scrubbing Bubbles® products.
They had several different kinds, in different scents and also a family pack. I grabbed the Disinfectant Scrubbing Bubbles ® Bathroom Cleaner for my review, grabbed a few groceries and headed to the register.
As with any day, messy moments happen. Today’s is the after baseball practiced muddy streaks on the bathroom tile floor.
According to the instructions, just spray, wait and wipe. I love that it kills odor
causing bacteria, disinfects bathroom surfaces, expands into hard to reach places and leaves a nice
scent in the space.
It works beautifully! I can spray it, the bubbles foam and do the hard work for me.
It was brilliant, and I’ve been sharing the news. At less than five dollars, Disinfectant Scrubbing Bubbles® Bathroom Cleaner is a win.
It’s the season for gorgeous lightweight outer layers. Lightweight pieces in the colors of blooming flowers and neutrals the shade of beach sands on exotic islands start to beckon me. It’s no surprise that some of my favorite knitwear and crochet designers have set out some rather gorgeous designs. Partner that with the lovely new linen yarn from PurlSoho and some new to me favorites by Fyberspates. It’s going to be a great season. Joji’s Growth reminds me of the tiny leaves on our apple tree that have blossomed in the last couple of weeks.
Ms. Weaver’s Two Summer Stories have been in my que for a while, and One Summer Day might just be calling a skein of Tosh Lace that has been hanging around in my stash for a while.
Plum Dandi fans will love Melissa’s Benevolence with its gentle waves balanced by easy lace.
Very Shannon’s Amberle popped up in my feed Monday and promptly fell directly into my shopping cart. I’ve got a thing for textured, worsted weight shawls, and this one is a stunner.
These are a few of my favorites, but which are yours?
On Friday, April 15 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at “The Loft” at Gilley’s Dallas, ArtCure will host their premier event to benefit cancer research. The event will include a premier art auction and festive entertainment during which guests can enjoy light bites, beverages, music and of course, bid on a variety art!
Doyle Glass, local artist and ArtCure founder, lost his wife to breast cancer and has made it his life’s mission to fight childhood cancer and metastatic breast cancer. To further his dedication to a cure, he will match all proceeds raised at the event. The proceeds will be split equally between Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern (CRI) and Dr. Matthew Ellis’ lab at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Previously known as Art to Beat Cancer, last year the event raised $165,261 for childhood cancer research at Children’s Research Institute and $200,000 for metastatic breast cancer research at University of Louisville’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
This year for the first time, Mr. Glass himself has created six sculptures titled, “Fortitudo de Muliere,” meaning strength of the woman. These sculptures honor all women who battle metastatic breast cancer. The five sculptures will be sold at $1,000 each and each sale will be double-matched, resulting in a $3,000 donation to ArtCure. There will be a sixth artist proof, which will be awarded to the top donor.
Prior to the event, an online auction featuring over 50 pieces of art from acclaimed artists will be available at the Bidding for Good website. The online auction is currently open and will end at 9:30 p.m. CDT on April 15.
It’s a busy season in our lives from Destination Imagination, Spring Break and the adventures of everyday living. Instagram has been a great tool to chronicle our adventures and share with our friends and family the moments of our lives.

As a special treat, he will also be debuting Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy, a 15 Year Old Irish Whiskey. The Tullamore D.E.W. On a Monday, after the house gets quiet, nap time is happening, and I’ve recovered from the abrupt transition from weekend to hustle bustle of Monday morning. I may sit with a cup of tea and troll some quiet places on the internet.
